Where is Iluka Golf Club?
...more to the point, where is Iluka?
Iluka is a coastal village at the mouth of the mighty Clarence River on the Far North Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
By car Iluka is a peaceful 17km drive through rain forest from the Pacific Highway and less than 80km north of Grafton.
To the north, the glitz and glitter of the Gold Coast is just two hours away, Byron Bay a 90-minute drive and Ballina an hour away.
And you probably know, or would have heard about, our trendier 'cousin' Yamba which is directly opposite on the other side of the river.
But this site is all about a little gem called Iluka
The pace of life here is much slower and more relaxed than it is on the other side of the river.
Iluka doesn't have the type of development that so many want to escape from -- you won't find any fast food franchise outlets, traffic lights or high-rise buildings here.
And you will immediately notice the absence of sirens and car horns, trains and aeroplanes.
This alone makes it a truly rewarding experience for those craving the 'good life' -- a good life that provides a great atmosphere for golf, fishing, bowls, bush walking and lazy days on the beach, beside the river or chilling out on your balcony.
And there's more than a fair chance you and your partner won't have to share any of these experiences with too many other locals or visitors.
Enjoy the challenge.
The Iluka Village, which is bounded by national park, the river and the Pacific Ocean, boasts a challenging nine-hole'all-weather' golf course*.
* Although Iluka is known as a nine-hole course, it sets up for a challenging and interesting 18 holes of golf, all maintained daily by our greens staff and volunteers.
The fairways are well maintained and manicured and lead you to greens which always roll true and are a delight to putt on.
If you are a golfer who doesn't like crowds, the Iluka course offers the very rare experience of playing a round and almost having the fairways and greens to yourself.
There are many more reasons to stay 'n' play in Iluka and we're only a 2 hour drive south of the Gold Coast.
At the clubhouse you can enjoy a free game of pool, a flutter on our Poker Machines, a game or two of Keno or a 'cool one' at the bar when visiting the Iluka Golf Club.
The clubhouse is open seven days a week.
Monday to Friday -- Noon until Close
Saturday -- 10:30am until close
Sunday -- 11:30am until close
There are raffles and a members' badge draw every Friday night and you can watch the Footy, the cricket or the races on Sunday's and ENJOY a couple of cold schooners during the welcome happy hour.
The Chinese and Thai Restaurant provides for a generous and tasty lunch or dinner (dine in or takeaway) whilst the club also runs a courtesy bus and will collect visitors from Woombah, the Woody Head camping ground and surrounding caravan parks, holiday units and homes in Iluka.
Phone 6646 6408 for more details.
Iluka presents a great club, great people and a great atmosphere.
...but don't just take our word for it...
"Loved the course and the friendly atmosphere. We will be back!
Good golf course, good fairways, good times."
